Interaction Designer

Job Description

Directi develops mass-market, Internet products used by millions of Customers worldwide. You will spearhead usability efforts and user interface design as a part of teams that are responsible for architecting and developing large-scale software products and web applications. These projects involve myriad technologies, diverse platforms and latest application paradigms such as Ajax, SOA etc. and serve millions of users everyday.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers, product management, and other internal teams to gather usability requirements
• Applying user-centered design processes to create high quality user experiences
• Manage UI and Usability for complex web applications as a member of high energy teams
• Determine and write text to be displayed on various User Interfaces
• Build and maintain wireframes and prototypes of various user interfaces
• Create reusable templates for various products and applications
• Develop usability test plans and conduct usability tests
• Mentor other individuals and develop your career ongoingly
• Take active participation in Recruitment and Training processes

Requirements

Detailed Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in user interface design and usability engineering for web and desktop applications
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS, Javascript
• Excellence in information architecture and usability
• Excellent logical reasoning
• Basic understanding of SOA and Web 2.0 concepts
• Experience with prototyping tools such as Axure, iRise, Visio, Powerpoint etc.
• Familiarity with Ajax, RIA, Flex and web applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good team player
• Voracious reader of usability related material
• Extremely process oriented – creates reusable templates, effective guidelines, engages in training processes etc.

Bonus

• Any Certification(s) in Usability Engineering and HTML/Design preferable
• Ability to sell Usability to developers
